This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a group of 22 lively 7 year olds. A lot of them are new to the country and are getting accustomed to a new home and school life. Our different backgrounds make us a unique classroom.
Our days are filled with stories and adventure.
They love to tell stories about their country and all the fun things they miss. This year I intend to use those wonderful stories to build a good writing foundation. our main focus will be literacy since a lot of them are still learning how to read and write.
My Project
My second graders will love yet another area of our classroom which will feel just like home. Adding this new carpet will do just that!
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where to work.
Just Like Home is our classroom motto and everyday we make sure we make that come to life.
Special areas in my classroom allow for a comfortable and cozy feeling while reading, writing or just thinking. This makes my students feel right at home and creates a sense of community like no other.
