Just Chill Out!

Help me give my students a calming "chill out" center within our classroom complete with soft flexible seating, multiple social-emotional toys, and a side table to hold all these materials.

My Project

Preschool students learn best when they are learning through play. Our students are learning and growing every day by exploring our classroom's learning centers throughout the classroom. They enjoy building forts and animal homes in the block center, getting their hands "dirty" in the kinetic sand table, or retelling stories in the library area.

One area of our classroom that could use some more love is the calming "Chill Out" area.

An area for students can practice and gain social/emotional intelligence skills. This area will start with a soft seat to center themselves on, and multiple calming toys such as sensory tape, fidget toys, and social-emotional books. This chill out area will be complete with a piece of child-sized furniture to hold all the materials when not in use.
