My Students
I am a special education teacher who is now teaching First grade for the first time after several years in Kindergarten. I teach in an ICT class with special education students and general education students. My students come from various backgrounds. We have students with a range of special needs. We also have advanced students who love to be enriched and challenged.
In my classroom, we are building a community of learners.
We believe in providing opportunities for ALL students to engage in learning by offering flexible approaches to teaching, learning, and materials.
My Project
My students have loved all the new editions to our classroom library this school year. They have devoured the books in our library. It is so exciting to see that they are growing as readers!
They have grown so much as readers, that we now need higher level books to challenge them at their current level.
I have carefully selected books that I know the students will just love to read. Students benefit from having book choices to keep their interests high and to build strong reading behaviors and habits.
Students will be able to select between eight and twelve books to read each week at school and at home.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
