Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have 50 second-grade students who come from many different social and economic backgrounds. They all have different learning abilities and learning styles too. As I have taught in this Utah neighborhood, I have seen many changes over the past several years. Technology and the way kids learn have drastically changed. I am constantly looking for ways to motivate each student to learn, while at the same time, trying to make learning fun.
My students get half of their learning in Spanish and half in English.
I teach math, science, and Spanish literacy in Spanish.
My Project
Due to Covid, the risk of germs is higher, and there are more job responsibilities for custodians. Often our classrooms get neglected and not cleaned thoroughly, which makes the teacher have extra cleaning responsibilities. The vacuum will help keep the carpet cleaner because the floors only get vacuumed once a week.
These air purifiers will help to ensure a clean breathing environment for my students.
Many of my students suffer from respiratory illnesses that cause them to miss school on a frequent basis.
I teach in two different classrooms, hence two air purifiers are needed.
