My Project
Our students are struggling with emotional regulation skills. Jim Thorpe Elementary is a Title 1 school with a high transient population. Add to that the lack of social emotions skills due to the COVID pandemic. We have created a Calming room to support all our students. This is a safe, calm, and quiet room away from the stress of a classroom where students can work with staff to practice calming strategies, discuss their social-emotional needs, or just take a break to regroup before returning to class.
Our students need to feel safe and supported.
We have the space and the staff but are in need of items to help the students feel more comfortable and supplies to help students learn new strategies. We appreciate any help with accomplishing our goal and helping support our students.
