My Project

My students are English Language Learners in grades 6, 7, and 8. Current event articles are an important tool for teaching students about the world while helping them improve their reading, writing, and discussion skills. Junior Scholastic is one of the best sources of news for English Language Learners and young adults. The monthly magazines help students understand how history, civics, and geography impact their lives through news articles and stories, interviews, and map lessons. If our project is fully funded, we will receive 20 magazines each month, in addition to online access to videos and interactive assignments.
