This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

One of the best ways to teach scholars about history and different cultures is from a celebratory point of view. Students learn about diversity and cultures other than their own by studying traditions. Children understand birthday parties and holidays; one way to teach diversity is to plan and participate in different cultures' traditions, music, and food. Juneteenth is a great way to introduce young children to racial justice and representation. The colorful display of history, the lively music, and tasty treats will engage children's 5 senses as well as make a lasting impression on the long-term memory of all participants.
