My Students

My students are from the inner city of Washington, D.C.! The school has more than 80% of its students receiving free or reduced-price lunch. We are a school that strives to serve low-income families to the fullest extent.

Every day that my students walk into the room, we are reminded to leave our worries at the door and get ready to learn.

We love to dance and sing. We love listening to characters take on new adventures and we love making connections to the world around us!

My Project

I would like to add a trampoline to my classroom to increase engagement and movement into our day. It would be used as a positive reward for students engaged and an added safe space for students to sit and read during choice time. We will use it to celebrate students answering questions or sharing good news during our morning and afternoon meetings. Adding movement to our lessons each day increases brain function and heart rates! I am also asking for sanitizing wipes to help keep the handle and mat clean.
