This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have been teaching for 15 years and I always fall in love with my kids! This year is no different. I have a sweet and hardworking bunch that come from many backgrounds. All of my students are special and they all deserve to be successful and have fun doing it.
I want to challenge and my students during distance learning.
I want them to learn about current events in a manner that catches their interest and activates that spark to keep learning.
My Project
Subscriptions to Scholastic News Magazines will allow my students to have access to social studies and current event articles. The magazines offer differentiation tools such as multiple reading levels and text to speech audio to help all learners. Students will be able to access the articles during distance learning on any digital device. They will also be able to turn in assignments digitally using our LMS platform.
Currently, we do not have an official Social Studies curriculum.
This will allow them to be exposed to Common Core State Standard lessons. The digital format is perfect for distance learning and teaching offering standards-based lessons, activities, and assessments.
