This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students lack outdoor recess equipment. Playing and exercising contribute to my student's social and emotional growth.
Many of my students lack opportunities to play sports or interact with each other after school because their parents cannot afford after-school programs or they feel that the outdoor recreational centers are not safe for them to socialize independent of parent supervision.
Recess is a time when my students can interact with each other, have much-needed fun, and decompress from the added stress many of them have in their lives. Recess provides a safe environment where my students can be kids.
