My Students
My fifth graders are motivated students who want to do well. With the addition of the Common Core Standards in the area mathematics, the expectations have risen. I want all my students to have the resources needed to help them succeed.
I teach 35 fifth grade students.
Our school is high performing neighborhood school so almost all of my students either walk or ride bikes to school. Most of the children have known each other since kindergarten, and as a result we have a strong sense of community.
My Project
Our school district is transitioning from our current state standards to the new Common Core Standards for English Language Arts and Mathematics. The funding of this grant will provide access to "Jump Math" teaching and learning materials. My students will use these math books to assist them in meeting the new standards of learning in math.
The resources provided through the funding of this project will assist me in meeting the needs of my students.
With these new materials, I will have additional resources to assist my students in their learning of important mathematical concepts.
