Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The items I’m requesting, such as trampolines will provide my students with opportunities to self-regulate, improve focus, and engage in movement-based activities. Many of my students benefit from sensory input to help manage their energy levels and prepare their minds for learning. Trampolines, for example, will allow them to release excess energy in a safe, controlled way, which is essential for students with sensory processing challenges or attention difficulties.
These items will also support gross motor development and provide a fun, physical outlet that can help students reset and refocus during their school day.
By meeting their sensory and movement needs, the resources will create a more balanced and effective learning environment. Our classroom trampoline recently broke, and it was a vital part of our daily routine. For many of my students in this self-contained special education classroom, the trampoline served as more than just a fun activity—it was a critical tool for self-regulation, sensory input, and improving focus.
A new trampoline will allow my students to release excess energy, calm their bodies, and prepare their minds for learning. It provides a safe and engaging way to meet their sensory needs, which is essential for helping them stay attentive and productive during lessons. Having this tool back in the classroom will make a significant difference in creating a supportive and effective learning environment.
