Help me give my students get iPad minis and a charging station to get educational apps and games for our classroom and gain access to a digital education.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are motivated and eager learners that come from divers backgrounds. Most of our students come from low-income homes and kindergarten is their first exposure to school. No matter the day, all 24 of my students come to school everyday ready to experience the world through a new and creative lens.
In our classroom we focus on getting every student to a level where they read, write and become active learners in order to give them a solid foundation for the following grade levels and beyond.
Some of our students can't make any alphabet sounds, while others are already reading. I help them to help each other grow.
With such an amazing group of children, I am motivated to give them every advantage I can to help them continue to be as excited about their education as they are now.
My Project
Technology has made it easier for students to reach educational resources. Using the iPads will ensure my students, most of whom don't have access to technology in their own homes, will gain access to much-needed resources.
The iPads will allow us to buy books, applications and other educational resources that will allow students interactive ways to learn how to read, do math and have an interactive introduction to science.
In addition, students will be introduced to technology and how to use it which is vital for success in school and beyond.
The use of technology in the classroom will be a vital experience and will set up my students for success as they learn how to utilize this technology to further their educations. Many of our students have Individual Education Plans which include ESL, behavioral and counseling interventions and extra academic support. Having an iPad in the classroom will help me better cater to their individual learning needs through appropriate applications and educational games.
