My students need juicers to start our school project, "Good Nutrition is Our Mission". We want to pass on to all the students in our school the fun and healthy benefits of juicing.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are ENL students. ENL stands for English as a New Language. My students face a multitude of barriers in their attempt to succeed academically and to adapt to American society. These two key features of the transitional process are closely interrelated, particularly since many of them arrived in the United States at an age when social acceptance is a critical factor.
❝Language is the road map of a culture, it tells you where its people come from and where they are going.❞‒Rita Mae Brown.
For my students, the education difficulties before them tend to be particularly hard to overcome in regular school settings since many of them come from parts of the world where they received little if any, formal education. Through the ENL/Culinary program, the students will be able to flourish academically and it will facilitate the acquisition of the English language.
My Project
It's time for my students to take their first steps towards a lifetime journey of successful juicing by using this juicer in class. This project will introduce them to fresh fruit and vegetable juicing—how to juice, what to juice, and when to juice. They will learn that your digestive system can function more efficiently when drinking raw vegetables. Although you lose the benefits of consuming fiber when drinking your produce, it takes less energy to digest food in liquid form. Heating and cooking vegetables also reduces or destroys some of their enzyme content, which some say can impede digestion.
This project would significantly help my students' understanding of the benefits to adding juicing into their eating plan.
Michelle Obama once said, "We can make a commitment to promote vegetables and fruits and whole grains on every part of every menu. We can make portion sizes smaller and emphasize quality over quantity. And we can help create a culture - imagine this - where our kids ask for healthy options instead of resisting them." This project will change our students' lives for the better because they will learn to love a new healthy lifestyle and they will be having fun while learning!
