We teach physical education at a Title I school in a fully inclusive environment. All of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. A lot of our students also participate consistently in our after school sports program. The purpose of our physical education classes and after school program is to help motivate our students to practice and continue a healthy lifestyle.
With the current teaching and learning environment, our students are either hybrid learning or 100% distance learning.
For our 100% distance learners, our P.E. equipment is very limited. We have had to become creative and teach P.E. in a different way to connect students to content while being mindful of all students home environments.
We also have many English language learners at our site. In order to continually support our English language learners across content areas, we continually implement various strategies in P.E. to help support their language development. We want to help support all our students in all areas of their life and help them become life

My Project
These materials will help make a difference in our students' learning and personal health because it will give them more motivation when participating in their P.E. classes. Each of my students will receive at least three scarves to learn how to juggle at home. The portals will allow myself, the teacher, to move around my room and be tracked so the students can follow my instruction without having to continuously move my computer.
Being the distance learning PE teacher has brought many challenges, main concern is providing the resources for students to be successful in their home environment.
Finding resources to provide students for home use that allow them to work on their motor skills and reach state standards is another challenge we are being faced with. I want to encourage our students to live a healthy lifestyle beyond just their P.E. class and our current teaching situation should not take a way from their education.
