Help me give my students bookshelves to entice adolescent readers, flexible seating to make independent reading enjoyable, and post-its for students to employ comprehension strategies with independence!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In a full inclusion classroom where 25% of our students have disabilities and 60% of our students are learning to speak, read, and write in English, joyful reading is one of the best tools we have to help all of our students succeed! Although our classroom has lots of great books for adolescent readers, our bookshelves are falling apart and we do not have a variety of seating options for students to get comfy and cozy while they enjoy a good book.
Help us build a beautiful classroom library to beautifully display our books and flexible seating options for a joyful reading experience!
New bookshelves will help our students to see and choose books of interest. Rugs will add warmth to our classroom library, and flexible seating options will entice students to pick a book and enjoy it for a while. Post its will help students to practice comprehension monitoring strategies with greater independence in their choice books.
