Joyful Journaling

Help me give my students daily journals to build reading comprehension and math skills.

My Project

My little learners have been growing by leaps and bounds this year. These journals from Lakeshore Learning will be used daily in class to push and continue growing their skills in math and reading.

I am particularly excited about the Diversity and Inclusion journals because they focus on community.

Our PBL unit this year focuses on our community, both local and island wide, so these journals will not only enhance their reading and writing, but also fit in well with our PBL theme.

The math practice journals will be an engaging way to quickly practice daily skills as soon as they walk in for morning work. It will be a quick an easy formative assessment to gauge if students are grasping math concepts.

My students LOVE sentence correction challenges, and these journals will be a fun and friendly competition to have after our daily grammar lessons.

I love that these journals are individual, sturdy and paper and pencil. My students have grown up on computers to the detriment of writing and fine motor skills. These items will not only enrich reading, writing and math, but also build hand muscles and develop fine motor skills.
