Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students in my class are curious and inquisitive. They come from diverse backgrounds. Their differences make our class community rich and interesting. They are kind and compassionate towards each other’s differences. They love helping each other learn. They come to school every day ready to learn and share what they know.

My students are very expressive about their thoughts and feelings.

They are not afraid to make mistakes or ask questions.

Most of my students do not have books at home to read. They bring books from school every day and bring them back the next. The books in our classroom are outdated which makes it hard for students to relate what they are reading to their life.

My Project

Pen will ease a lot of downward pressure compared to pencils in young writers hand while they are also trying to make fine motions side to side. This is physically impossible for many young children with less-strong muscles, and is very tiring even for adults. .

Pencils encourage the erasing trap -- two minutes writing to five minutes erasing and at the end of the hour of hard work, nothing to show but a filthy piece of blank paper and a lot of frustration.

Writing with pens will remove this distraction and frustration.
