Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have 25 high-energy, fun-loving first grade students in my class this year. My students love to write, read, and also be read to! They look forward to school because it is a safe place for them to learn. The majority of my students come from very low-income families. Many of their families work 2 or 3 jobs just to make ends meet.
The majority of their educational experiences take place in the classroom.
That is why, as a teacher, I try to go above and beyond for my students to provide them with as many experiences and opportunities as I possibly can.
My Project
I am requesting two sets of journals for my students. Each journal would enable students to practice and review their skills while giving them a sense of independence.
The journals will be used as a DO NOW to begin each lesson.
They will enable students to work at their own pace, review, and ask questions. The Math Journals will help children with their comprehension of Math Word problems, while also incorporating writing into math. The Language Arts Journals will help students to practice their Reading Comprehension at their own pace.
