Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Keep us investigating and reflecting about science. My students need materials to write their discoveries where they know it won't be misplaced.

My students this year are an incredible group of young learners.

They are excited about science and even more excited about science journals. My students attend a school that works closely with the parents and neighborhoods in our high needs community. The relationship between students and teachers extends beyond the classroom walls.

My Project

My students are excited that they will be keeping a science journal all year. These students know last years class of students and how they used their journals. During the first week, they asked, "When will we get our journals and start using them?" This year my students will use their science journals to record all of their laboratory investigations and special projects. They will learn how to use the steps of the scientific method. They will use and record real observations and data into their journal. They will conduct investigations and record their findings about speed, velocity, density, forces, and more. In addition, they will record Their reflections about what they learn, an important skill in learning science. They will also use their science journal as a resource. On some assessments, the students will be able to use their journals to look up information to answer questions. These science journals will become a powerful tool in my students, understanding of physics and chemistry.

Your donation will help my students apply what they learn in class to hands on scientific investigations.

You donation also helps them become better organized in their daily learning. It also gives them an opportunity to connect what they learn in class to skill-based activities. What excites me the most is your donation will help me teach them how to use their journal as a resource, a place to find answers to questions. This skill will help them as the move onto high school.
