This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"I can't wait to take my multiplication quiz today! I know I am going to pass!" This is what many students say on quiz day, as they are ready for the timed challenge to learn their facts. I have an awesome class of 3rd graders and they are ready and willing to learn. My students come to school each day enthusiastic to learn the day's lessons.
They stand by their work and try their hardest, and I want to be able to provide as many resources as I can for them.
I teach at a school in the city of Chicago and there are many budget cuts, which is affecting the resources available to differentiate teaching .
My Project
My students would benefit greatly from having journals to enhance their writing skills. Right now education resources are very limited and teachers are often buying these materials from their own pocket. By providing each third grader with a journal, they will be able to further their writing skills, in which many students are lacking. Students will have the opportunity to use graphic organizers and formulate their writing in one book.
Writing is the key to being successful in all areas of education, and I want to provide my students with materials to ensure that I am meeting their learning needs.
