My Students

My second graders are naturally inquisitive and eager to learn more about everything we discuss in class. They are a diverse group, with many individual needs. It's often a challenge to meet these needs with limited resources.

In spite of all the obstacles, they are eager and enthusiastic learners who light up when they learn something new!

It is amazing to watch my students when they make a connection and get so excited. My job is to eliminate as many hurdles as possible to allow them to make those connections.

My Project

With the uncertainty of the school year, I want to be able to use something that could be consistent whether we are in the classroom or at home. These writing and math journals will help my students keep all their work in one place and be able to transport it easily from school to home. They will not need to share them with other students and I can check them to see cumulative work over time.

It is important for students to have something concrete that they will easily be able to work on either at school or from home independently.

It is also helpful to have something that caregivers can easily check for assignments and can be done with no extra materials needed.
