My Students

Bonjour! My students attend a public French immersion school in Minnesota's capital city. Our school population includes students of all backgrounds, as our magnet school draws from all over the city and surrounding areas. We also have students from French-speaking countries such as Togo, Senegal, and Cameroon!

In PhyEd (or "L'éducation physique et sportive) we are working on developing manipulative and locomotor skills so that all students have access to athletics no matter what their background or income.

It is my belief that teaching students the skills needed to participate in these sports is a matter of equity - all students whether or not they have access to competitive after-school sports programs should have access to this education.

My Project

We have a wonderful opportunity to learn tennis from M. Tran, who is willing to donate his time to L.D.N. to teach us tennis. Tennis is a lifetime sport that students will be able to play competitively or recreationally. Playing tennis will keep students healthy, fit, and strong. Since many communities have free access to tennis courts, this is a sport that students will be able to play with friends and family outside of school for the cost of a cheap tennis racket and a ball. Thank you for considering bringing tennis to our school, mille fois merci!
