My Students
Have you ever felt emotional about an issue, and wanted to let the world know about your view? My fifth graders feel like this every day. Creating podcasts is an easy solution to this problem.
I teach 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Science in a high poverty elementary school in Missouri.
Most of my students qualify for free/reduced lunch and many have a poor quality of life at home. School is a safe haven for many of my students, and I strive to give them as many opportunities as I can while they are in my care.
My Project
My class would use an iPad for a variety of educational endeavors. We can use Garageband and an external microphone to create and upload podcasts. We will also use Skype and Facetime on the iPad to talk with other classes and professionals who could assist in our learning. The iPad also has many awesome educational apps that can provide practice in reading and math.
Your donation will made a difference by giving Joplin students a voice and a way to get their voice heard around the world.
It will also allow us to interact with professionals or other classes to collaborate using Facetime. It also provides a fun way to practice math and reading using the apps on iTunes.
