This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will change their outlook on school work. As a teacher, I stride to make the most out of every activity that we do in the classroom. The littlest things for my class gets them super excited about what we are going to be learning. Trust me, I've gotten noise complaints because of their excitement to learn and to have fun while learning (I'll take that any day). The Astro Bright Papers will be use to spicy up our everyday learning. The kiddos love seeing the bight paper and wondering what we will use them for. The Megan McDonald's books are to show the class a glimpse of Ms. Navarro's childhood. They asked what books I read when I was their age. I bought a couple to show them and they are eating them up. I know they will really enjoy seeing all her books. I can picture it now, them holding Mr. Avocado and diving into some Judy Moody and Stink adventures.

Now, are you ready to have some Tea with some pretty cool Americans?

We put on a event called Tea at the White House at my school. Picture it... 2nd graders dressed up as different Americans who impacted history, sing their hearts out on stage, and looking for their parents. With COVID, this event couldn't happen for two years. This meant this teacher had to find a way to still have her class be important Americans. I created a project for the students still learn about the American that they want to learn about. We dive deep into them and try to find facts about their life and fun facts, like JFK in meetings would doodle sailboats. These books on different Americans will be helpful resources.
