My Students
"Big doors swing on tiny hinges," Desmond Tutu said, and I hope to inspire my students to see mathematics as the hinge.
My students come from a predominantly Filipino community located in the East Bay.
Many of my kids plan on attending 4-year universities and dream of working in the Silicon Valley. In addition, a substantial number of economically disadvantaged kids attend our school that do not have access to computers at home.
My Project
My students need ONE modern piece of technology in their math class to investigate, discover, create lessons, track progress, make power point displays, and to simply join the modern world. We need the ability to connect math to the outside world showing the relevance of mathematics to both their academic and daily lives.
Your donation will connect my students, through technology, to both the outside world and the amazing language of mathematics.
They will use the computer to investigate math, see math in action, and connect mathematics to the world around them. Also, I hope to create inspiring lessons on the machine and to provide interactive content that will allow students a hands-on experience creating both excitement and relevance around the subject.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
