Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students at our school have fallen in love with jewelry crafting. The bracelets, necklaces, earings, and metal sculptures they create are filled with messages for positive change and you can see kids wearing their work throughout the school. It's important that as a Makerspace, I give students the chance to not just string together beads into necklaces, but give them the foundations of jewelry crafting including soldering, stamping, and wire wrapping. With your help, this project purchases materials to take their crafting skills to the next level and prepare some students for careers as Jewelry artisans.
