My Students
My student-athletes are from all over the city of Columbus, Ohio. Of our 20 athletes that were on our team last year, we were a mix of different ethnicity and religion. Our kids worked hard in the classroom to improve their grades during our season, they worked hard in helping our school with younger students by tutoring in reading and they looked out for each other all season by sharing rides and hanging out on the weekends to build a team relationship.
This is the first year we will be hosting three basketball teams including our first ever girls basketball team and the school couldn't be more excited.
The students have been so excited with the addition of our sports these past few years and our community is very big into basketball so I cannot wait for these teams to get their chance to prove how skilled they are on the court.
My Project
We have a very limited space at our school that we share with numerous groups. Our gym does not have sufficient space or equipment to host practices for multiple teams. With these donations, we will be able to practice and improve in a safe environment that will allow our team to gain valuable experience and skill. The space we are looking to rent is more than sufficient in hosting both of our teams during the allotted time.
The uniforms will allow us to compete in the first ever Girls basketball league here at CA as well as our first ever high school team.
The kids are very excited and deserve this chance to succeed!
