Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are enthusiastic but often lack the motivation to work on their classwork. They also need support with English speaking and listening. Most are English learners and are struggling in their English Language Arts class.
My students come from a diverse school in a large city.
Part of the school is a magnet with students from all over the city. My students, however, are comprised mainly of residential students from the local low-income neighborhood. Most are English learners, as well.
My Project
Our classroom is empty and dull since returning to campus. We want a colorful (fake) jellyfish tank to add some color and life to the classroom (even if the jellyfish are fake).
Also, our headphones need headphone adapters to work with the new speakers the school added to the room.
To also help the students enjoy their time in the classroom, we would like some Picture Puzzle books to help make time in the classroom enjoyable. These puzzle books have been very popular with my students and they have asked for more.
