This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Curious, enthusiastic, and creative; my students are eager to immerse themselves in our art projects. They are fearless when it comes to trying new things. Although many students are trying things for the first time in my class, they approach every new project with a positive attitude. For these reasons, I want them to have all the different mediums and materials available to them so they can learn and experience new things. I know the students will appreciate your donations.

My Project

There are two aims in this lesson; to improve drawing production and to get used to the properties of watercolor. The former is achieved by various means to encourage good observation, and to draw without questioning what you are drawing.

Students will learn:

How to layer your watercolor so that you end up with bright, vibrant color.

• What to do if you make a mistake.

• How to be confident with the watercolor, as you'll find that the color will dry much lighter than it

looks when it goes on.

• How to mix your colors.

• How to achieve a flat surface without visible brush strokes.
