My students are always excited to come into class, no matter what type of day they are having.
With the stress of standardized testing, these students are resilient in being the best that they can be during their band class. Though we are far away from the urban area of our state, this does not stop me or my students from succeeding at our job: making music!
My Project
Since the pandemic, my students were sad to know that their performances would be cancelled due to the social distancing guidelines set by our school. As their teacher, I wanted to keep performances in their mind and show them that it is possible to do it, even through Distance Learning. Many of them have seen other performances shown online and on the news. I shared with them that this would be our opportunity to contribute to this world and make it a happier place, despite what has been going on recently.
The microphone will help allow students to record themselves, as if we are all sitting together in rehearsal and performances.
At the start of the school year, the instrument assignments and class sizes vary to keep within the guidelines. That, however, gives me an opportunity to see how create we can be in pursuing a concert during this pandemic. I was blessed to be able to use an online platform but this microphone would be the cherry on top!
I truly hope that you would be able to help fund this project as this would benefit my students and give them something that is "normal" for them during this time of uncertainty and inconsistency.
