My Students
Practice makes perfect! My students love math, but many of them need more practice...practice that is both fun and rigorous. IXL allows for both!
The students for whom you are donating today are a group of 20 energetic and tenacious 4th graders in Harlem, New York.
They come from tough home situations (dire poverty, homeless shelters and foster homes), yet every morning they come in with a bright smile and an eagerness to learn. They love school! My classroom is a place where they feel safe and encouraged, where it is okay to dream and explore.
My Project
IXL is a website in which students get to practice math skills using standards-based questions. They will be able to practice using current grade level questions, as well as in any other grade level. This means that my students will get to go back and practice basic skills, or be challenged with materials from a higher grade. I am requesting a 1 year subscription to IXL for all 30 of my students.
Donating to my project will allow my students access to the IXL website which will give them the opportunity to continue practicing and master the math skills they need to succeed.
