My students need iPads to help them meet the demands of our technology driven society. The iPads will help my students research answers to questions they have and to strengthen reading, writing, and math skills.

My Students
My students walk into my classroom each day ready to be inspired and learn. They look for experiences that will be engaging and help them connect what we are learning to their real life.
Children learn through play.
"Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning." Mr. Rogers
This school year, I have 20 amazing students that are in my classroom. These students are all unique and come from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. The level of support each student receives at home also differs greatly. We have several students who are learning English as a second language. Some of my students love to learn and are engaged, while others struggle. I want to provide my students with skills necessary for success and to foster each child's curiosity and instill excitement and a love for learning!
My Project
Having a set of iPads will help connect my students to many additional resources. One way the iPads will be used is in literacy center rotations. The iPads will help me differentiate to meet the needs of all my learners. Students that need review can be using one app, while students needing to be challenged can be working on another skill. Another way we will use iPads is to do research. We will be able to research animals and famous people. Students will also be able to take pictures to use in their reports. Another way students can use the iPads is to record and write about science experiments, such as the stages of plant growth. Additionally, students will be able to use the iPads to record themselves making presentations.
The iPads will make a difference in my students' lives.
It will help students develop 21st century skills, while building strong reading, writing, math, and science skills. In addition, technology will help keep students engaged and curious to explore the world around them!
