My students need classroom rhythm musical instruments to enhance their knowledge of the Arts.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. N.'s classroom raised $286
This project is fully funded
My Students
Tap, snap, clap. Tap, snap, clap. This is what we do in the classroom if we want to play along with the music during circle time. Could you imagine how much fun Kindergarten students would have if they were given REAL instruments in class?
In our class family this year, we have 18 five and six year-olds with one teacher, and no teacher's aide.
Since our school is considered to be a hub school for children with special needs, we are considered an inclusion classroom with students with varying exceptionalities. Our class family also comes from all over; we have 4 different home languages in our classroom alone!
My Project
Music is a universal language. Especially among young children, it provides entertainment, cultural education and exercise. We use music throughout the entire day in Kindergarten.
Research shows that using music to teach certain Reading and Math skills allow students to grasp the concept quicker and more in depth. These instruments will not be used "just as toys"; they will become learning tools. In Reading, the instruments will be used to count words in a sentence or syllables in a word just to name a few. In Math, the instruments can be used to make patterns or to help with one-to-one correspondence. We could even sort the instruments by comparing the sounds they make!
With your help, you will make 18 kinder kids love and appreciate music.
With your help, you will guide their school career. With your help, you will ensure that it is successful! Thank you for your consideration!
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
