I've Got a Feeling.....Sensory Fun

My students need a sensory table to be able to relax when they are feeling frustrated and need a break.

My Students

My students are eager to learn! They love to come to school. Many of my students have sensory issues that create barriers for them. Many of them come from families that cannot always afford lunch or other school activities. I try to provide as many opportunities for them to achieve success as possible. We provide snacks in our classroom and break time for those students who need that extra lit bit of help and encouragement to be able to succeed.

My Project

My students come from various backgrounds and have different needs. Some of them have sensory issues that cause them to get frustrated easily.

By having a sensory table, my students can have a place to go to explore and calm down when they are feeling upset or just need a calming and relaxing activity.

Whether it be playing with sand, water, or rice or beans, my students will be using all of their senses to calm their minds. All of my students would benefit from this, as it is also a form of creative, imaginative play that allows them to expand on their social skills when they play with others.
