Help me give my students tables designed for active, creative 8th graders. Our current tables are in bad shape and these sturdy whiteboard tables would also double as a space for collaboration and creativity for my students!
For the past seven years, I have been trying to breathe new life into the old, weathered, and rickety student tables I inherited in my classroom. I am fairly certain these tables may be the ones this class started with when the school was opened many years ago. As of late, my Science and STEM students have been expressing their frustration with the issues they are facing with the tables we have in our classroom and have implored me to take steps to have them replaced.
I am realizing I finally have to wave the white flag and put these tables out to pasture as they no longer serve the needs of my students.
They are unstable, wobbly, and bowed, and make horrid noises even with just the slightest movement or nudge. No amount of tightening and TLC is making a difference at this point so I am determined to find them some tables they can use, not only to sit at, but the whiteboard top will also provide them a valuable workspace to brainstorm, collaborate, and create. This classroom furniture will be a huge game changer for my students!
