Help me give my students this excellent hands2mind Daily Math Fluency Kit for Kids to my spectacular second grade scholars. This kit will help them with their math skills.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a math and science bilingual teacher. I teach at an "at risk", low economic area in Houston. My students are a group of 2nd grade scholars who are highly motivated to learn, especially when they know they are cared about.
My students are English Language Learners in a Bilingual Transitional Program.
Their families are from different parts of Mexico and Central America and most of them are the first generation born and raised in the United States of America. My second-grade students have gone through a lot of different, and in most cases difficult, experiences that made me have the need to request all the help they can get to be successful in life.
My second graders need to expand their resources, especially for math and science while learning English, and these resources will help me to help them to further their knowledge. These resources will open a world full of learning, and give them rich experience using updated resources. They will really appreciate your support. I am looking forward to seeing them become great leaders and productive citizens of this country.
My Project
Due to COVID-19, we had to do virtual teaching since March, 2020. As a math and science teacher, I encountered many difficulties presenting and explaining specific content to my students from home; especially to elaborate on misconceptions. It would have being more effective if I had this math kit to explain to my scholars that needed a more visual explanation of a number concept.
I need to bring math concepts and fluency to life.
My scholars love to learn through hands-on activities and this math kit from hands2mind will provide them with a rewarding way to build math skills proficiency. During distance learning, I will only be able to do a visual demonstration. I am confident that we will return to the classroom pretty soon, and my scholars will enjoy this math kit very much.
