This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach in an urban school in one of the largest school districts in Pennsylvania. My students come from low income homes where unfortunately they do not have access to newspapers and are not aware of many current events. By providing Time for Kids magazine my students will be able to read and discuss current events and encourage them to become more civic minded citizens.
Implementing Time for Kids magazine as a supplement to our Social studies curriculum will help student gain a better grasp of our world and the role the can play in it.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
