it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students need exposure to quality news articles written with a child's interest in mind.
I teach at a high poverty elementary school in Southern California.
The children I work with are enthusiastic learners who are very curious about current events in the world around them. Many of these students do not have access to quality newspapers and magazines outside of the classroom.
My Project
I am requesting subscriptions for a quality children's magazine that presents informational news articles from around the world. These include quality research, engaging visuals, and thought-provoking topics. I intend to use these resources to stimulate discussion and written projects.
This will be an valuable resource as my students learn about the world around them and develop into the next generation of leaders in our world.
I want to help them become wise and thoughtful consumers of information.
