Help me give my students tools tailored to their special needs. Auditory phonics, sensory focus points, movement mats when they just can not sit still for one more second! These are all items that will help my students.
I teach at a school in North Florida that has been affected by Hurricane Michael. Many of our students lost their homes, clothes, pets and more during and after the storm. The damage is incalculable.
Yet, our students show up to school ready to learn each day we have been back in session.
This project is to help them in the classroom so they can make the most of this year academically. I want my students to feel successful every day.
My Project
The auditory phonics program will help my beginning readers who don't want to admit they are struggling; sensory focus points will help those students who CAN NOT focus with everything going on around them and just need a minute.
Movement mats will give wiggly kids a break!
These combined with more flexible seating (so they don't have to share) will allow my kids to really make the classroom their and help me support them in the ways they learn best. My goal is to make my classroom, theirs. A home for learning that they feel confident in because it meets their needs.
