My students come from diverse backgrounds from different parts of a small, rural town. Many of them are economically disadvantaged. They are intelligent, kind, active, and eager to learn about anything.
My students work and learn individually, in pairs, and groups, and what they learn from each other is inspiring.
These students grow up with each other and support each other. They come in wide eyed and ready to start a day that they know will be safe, consistent, challenging, and fun!
My Project
Students are growing up in a digital world, and often these small things make all the difference with engagement and interactivity in the classroom. The Echo Dot will be a fun, interactive way for students to get answers to their questions that are beyond my knowledge base. Often times the questions that students ask further their learning and keep their curiosity alive. It can also serve as a way for students to check if their previous learning and knowledge base is accurate. The bookmark timers will be an engaging way for students to track their reading progress during their independent reading time, and the flashlights will serve as a fun "Flashlight" Friday activity when we read with the lights off!
