My Students
I believe it is the little things that can make a difference. It's the little things that help motivate kids to learn. It's the little things that make learning easier and more fun. My students and I are looking for some big help in getting the little things we need to succeed.
I work with a great group of twenty-five English language learners in grades K-5.
My students speak Spanish, Chinese, and English. They are working hard to master the skills they need to be successful in life. I love coming to school each day to work with such hard-working students who are so excited to learn. They attend a large school with over one thousand students. We have a great school that has recently been designated by our state as a reward school for our students' high achievement and our work at closing the achievement gap. You can help us continue to improve.
My Project
This project is full of the little things that will make a big difference for my students. First, we would love some Hot Dots pens, cards, and batteries. In another DonorsChoose project, my students received some Hot Dots, Jr. cards and pens. My young students love them, and my older students are jealous. We would love some Hot Dots supplies for the 2nd-5th grade students.
This year I started to "gamify" writing by creating writing badges that students can earn when writing. The badges have been a great success and have done a lot to help improve my students' writing. I print the badges on round labels. We are flying through the labels I bought because my students love earning the badges. I would also like to reward their hard work with various pencils, erasers, and sharpeners.
This year I have a large group of kindergartners who are fairly low-skilled. We use the sheet protectors and dry erase markers to practice our letters. We also use letter stamps and bingo daubers to practice.
Sometimes, it's the little things.
You can make a big difference by helping us get those little things. Please consider donating to this project, whether it's a little or a lot. Even a donation of one dollar is truly appreciated.
