it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students

Even Einstein was worried about math! Many students feel the same way. My goal is to enable my class to enjoy math and gain confidence for their school career.
I teach twenty-eight first graders in a wonderful K-8, urban school.
My classroom is a buzz of activity with children actively involved in their learning. Students know that it is safe to make mistakes. The children help each other succeed. Parents, teachers, and faculty also support students.
My Project
The materials that I'm requesting will enable the children to understand Common Core Standards with hands-on manipulatives. Students can use the Daily Tracking Station to count days in school using hundreds, tens and ones. The magnetic ten frames will stick onto any magnetic surface. Then children will use the counters to explore essential math concepts, including making ten, addition and subtraction, more than/less than, and more! Children will use the stamps to work on place value. The number lines will help students add and subtract. Addition and Subtraction Math Machines will allow students to learn their math facts with automaticity. The games will reinforce counting skills, sharing, and following directions.
Donations to this project will make math accessible to all students in my class.
Children will learn and play, and math anxiety will melt away, The math CDs will allow students to improve math skills. Time on the computer will be an incentive for students to complete their classwork. Without your support, these items would not be available to my class.
