Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Being in the city most of my students walk or take public transit to and from school each day. We live in New York where the winters can be quite brutal. Unfortunately, many of my students do not have access to these types of clothing items and tend to be freezing cold while outdoors in the winter months. My students also have outdoor recess all throughout the winter months. Without the proper clothing my students are very uncomfortable when outdoors and are much more likely to become sick.

These hats, gloves, and headbands will ensure that my students are warm during these frigid winter months and do not get sick from the cold.

We will also be going on outdoor class trips throughout the winter months such as a Lunar New Year cultural festival and the Bronx Zoo. The Lunar New Year field trip will help bring to life what we are learning in class about the Lunar New Year. It will be a great tie to the end of our unit and celebration of the Lunar New Year! These supplies will help keep my students warm, especially during our class trips. Thank you for your consideration in supporting our classroom and helping me keep my students warm and healthy. It means the world to us!
