My students need healthy and nutritious snacks like popcorn, snack bars and crackers. A daily snack will help fill their rumbly tumblies until the end of the school day.

My Students
I teach first grade at an inner city elementary school in Georgia. Despite the fact that the majority of my students face many obstacles in life at such a young age and go without some life essentials, they are optimistic and eager to learn. They come to school each day and strive to do their best.
My school is designated as a Title I school based on the number of students receiving free and reduced lunch.
Although my students face many obstacles, including poverty, they are optimistic and eager about learning. Most of my students eat breakfast and lunch at school. For many of them, school meals are their main source of nutrition. Some of them may eat lunch at school and not know if they're going to have another meal at home that day.
My Project
We have a very early lunch time, 10:15. For most of my students, this lunch time comes only two hours after finishing breakfast at school. There are many hours between the end of lunch and the end of the school day at 2:55. I have incorporated snack time within our recess time. Some of my students have a daily snack, whereas others may have an occasional snack. Then there are others who never have a snack at all.
A mid day snack allows my students to re-energize.
It allows them to concentrate on their academics and stay focused without worrying about their growling tummies. Your donation will allow each student to have a daily snack. They will get a quick break to re-energize and socialize with their classmates. Thank you so much in advance for your generous help and consideration to this project.
