My Project
This past year I made the move from high school down to middle school. I am so enjoying this change, but have faced some challenges during this switch. I am finding that my middle school students are much more in need than my high school students were. They ask me daily for snacks, drinks, basic school supplies, and hygiene supplies. The increased demand for items such as granola bars, water, pens/pencils, expo markers, deodorant, and feminine hygiene products has forced me to begin using my own money to continue being able to offer these things to my students.
It is important for me to continue to offer these things to my students because many of them come from homes where it is a struggle to supply basic necessities and I really value being able to help them when I can.
That being said, continually trying to provide these things can become a costly burden and I cannot do it alone.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
