I am a first grade teacher in a charter school. My school is in a high-need area of New Jersey.
My students are reading everyday and I am seeing great improvements in their abilities, however there are only a few books per reading level and they are getting bored reading the same things over and over. I do not want reading to be boring!
My students need a large set of leveled reading books so that they are able to choose books that interest them that are also in their ability levels. The more interested they are in the books, the more they will want to read!
With your generous donation, my students will obtain a multitude of leveled books that they will read everyday. Making reading fun is one of the biggest hardships faced as a first grade teacher and you can help show these students that reading can, indeed, be fun!
