My Students

This little crew is always ready and willing to go above and beyond, no matter what the task. They love to have fun, but they also love to learn. That is what I love about them. They never let anything stand in their way, not even the fact that more than three-fourths of our school population is considered below the poverty level. They are so determined to prosper and grow.

Their little brains are like little sponges that soak up anything and everything I can throw their way.

The more I throw the more they long for. It's amazing that their little heads can hold so much information yet yearn for more.

My Project

My students and I need to replenish our supply of colored card stock. Our supply is very low and we are only a quarter of the way into our year. This amount will surely not meet our needs throughout the year.

We don't need just any kind of old paper.

We need card stock paper that will hold up when little fingers take hold and start building and cutting and maneuvering here and there. We love to create and make things...things that bring our learning to life. It's one thing to look at a picture of a log cabin, but it's something else when you can actually bring that 2D picture to life and create a 3D representation. And, what about all of those hats that we love to make throughout the year...those require card stock. You can't create a hat out of basic paper and expect it to hold up throughout the day and stand up as its supposed to and not flop over. Then there's the painting. Painting on regular paper causes the paper to wrinkle up. Card stock doesn't wrinkle. It holds up.
