This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are not just dreamers but they are thinkers. Just like when I was a child they also dream of being scientists, teachers, entrepreneurs, politicians, president. They are the mirror image of us and our future. Unfortunately in a low-income neighborhood, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. For instance, many of my students are being raised in a single parent household. I understand that I may not be able to control what happens at home, however I can control their experience during school hours.
My Project
These baseball supplies will provide the opportunity for the students to play together more comfortably. As time goes by, they will be able to work as a team and also do independent work. By doing this they will be able to practice socialization. These items will give the students a sense of ownership, and they will also learn to be more responsible on taking good care of the equipment. Studies have proven that extra curricular activities and sports have made a positive impact in children's lives. These type of programs have help students built the self-esteem they need. With your help I look forward on making a change in young adults' lives.
