It's NOT FAIR that science fairs get all the fun. Let's Read
My students need tri-fold display boards to create reading fair boards to celebrate their literacy accomplishments and motivate future reading.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Gogel's classroom raised $311

My Students
Within my library and technology lab we utilize a variety of media sources to shape, support, and present our knowledge. Students actively discuss literature and encourage one another in our literacy and learning endeavors. We stretch our minds each time we open a book or log on to read an article.
The students at my school range from grades PK-5th grade.
Our school includes two sections of each grade and also houses students with level 2 disabilities. All students are included in the library and tech lab. These students are energetic and motivated to share their learning with others.
My Project
My students will use these display boards to create a reading fair display. Older students (grades 3-5) will pick a favorite author to analyze and advertise the books he or she has written. Younger students (K-2) will pick a favorite story book to explore the literacy elements of plot, characters, setting, and theme. Each board will be completed and presented in the library for students, staff, community members, and parents to see.
Donations of display boards will give each student an equal opportunity to participate in the reading fair program and share their literacy preferences and successes.
Every child deserves the opportunity to share a favorite story or reading success. This fair will also promote future reading as students view another's project to learn about favorite stories.
